A comprehensive report from September last year, coordinated by the World Meteorological Organization WMO, revealed that between 1970 and 2021, there were approximately 12,000 reported disasters resulting from weather, climate, and water extremes, causing over 2 million fatalities and $4.5 trillion in damages worldwide. This stark reminder underscores the critical need for proactive measures like enhancing meteorological education to build resilience.

The key to navigating this complex challenge lies in empowering communities through knowledge dissemination on current and forecasted weather conditions. Such initiatives not only facilitate informed decision-making but also enable preparedness agnst natural disasters, thereby reducing vulnerability and loss.
