Stay Safe During Earthquakes
If inside a vehicle: Move over until the shaking stops.
Expect aftershocks and be alert for secondary hazards like flooding, tsunamis, and landslides.
Before the Earthquake
Review evacuation plans for homes, offices, schools, community centers, etc., including regular practice sessions.
Know your earthquake risk and local plans by contacting your municipality or emergency services.
Sign up for local earthquake alerts if avlable.
Practice Drop, Cover, and Hold in each safe location.
Create a personalized emergency kit.
After the Earthquake
Check yourself for injuries and provide first d when necessary.
Wear long pants, a shirt, sturdy shoes, and gloves to protect agnst broken objects.

Return home cautiously once it's declared safe.
