BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER AN EARTHQUAKE

Being prepared for an earthquake means understanding the stages of an earthquake: before, during, and after. Knowing what to do in each phase can make a significant difference in your safety.

Before

If driving, stop safely and remn inside your vehicle during earthquakes. Stay clear of overpasses and bridges that could collapse under the force. Turn off the engine; listen for instructions via radio on a battery-powered device as you stay within the vehicle, away from electrical lines which might be electrified.
